BRIAN K. WILLIAMS “BUTCH” as he was called by many was born in Riverhead, NY March 27, 1971 to the late Oscar Williams, Jr. and Delores Boyd Williams.
Brian accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Riverhead.
He attended and graduated from the Riverhead High School in 1990 where he played Football, Basketball, ran Track and excelled in all sports. He was also selected for the School’s Varsity Team. For brief period, Brian attended the Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. After college, he became a young father to his daughter, Kiara and later to his son, Saivon.
As a young teen, he started working as a Stock Boy at King Kullen and worked his way up the ranks to Assistant Manager; he was employed there from 1990 to 1999. He joined the Flanders Fire Department in 1994 and earned the rank of Chief from 2001 to 2003. He was elected to the Flanders Board of Commissions in 2005 and continued to serve in that position until his demise.
He also worked for the Town of Southampton in 1999 as a sanitation helper and eventually moved his way up in April 2001 to the position of Fire Marshall. He was the sitting Chairman of the Board of Commissions, sitting President of Southampton Commissioners, Ex-President of the Southampton Chiefs Council and CSEA Executive Board.
Brian was always ready for any call to duty. He went to Ground Zero in New York City to help with the cleanup process. He was also very active in working at the Election Polling places. On Election Day this year, November 7, 2023, Brian was called home, at his residence, by his Angel to his new assignment - a place where he will have a different call of duty. He was well - known and loved in the community. There are so many stories to be told about all he did for so many people. He loved fellowshipping with his family, friends and the Fire Department families. He was always the life of the party. He loved to travel, fish and cook on the grill.
